Salesforce.com recently announced their 2008 year-end results, and they were proud to report that they were the first enterprise cloud computing company to report over $1 Billion in annual revenues.  You're probably thinking, "What is "enterprise cloud computing?"  It is essentially the outsourcing of IT capability to 3rd party services on the Internet.

Salesforce is a CRM solution, helping companies better manage their sales and marketing.  Other online applications are gaining acceptance and Safety Management Systems are no different.  The efficiency, reliability and scope of our Safety Management System would be very difficult, if not impossible, to duplicate with paper forms and binders!  I think all safety management will someday be done on the Internet.  It's just a matter of when each company will choose to get on the bandwagon.

Another interesting tidbit from the Salesforce.com announcement is that they were able to grow their client base by 55,000 companies in 2008, despite the economic downturn.  It's good to see leading companies investing in technology solutions during troubled times.  It makes sense; improving performance has never mattered more!
